How to Request Account Deletion

At Skillgap, we value your privacy and give you full control over your data. If you wish to delete your account and all associated personal information, you can do so through the following methods:

1. In-App Deletion (Recommended)

The fastest way to delete your account is directly through the Skillgap mobile app:

  1. Open the Skillgap app on your mobile device.
  2. Navigate to your Profile tab.
  3. Tap the Settings icon (cogwheel) in the top right corner.
  4. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.
  5. Confirm your decision. Your account will be immediately deactivated and scheduled for deletion.

2. Email Request

If you no longer have the app installed, you can request deletion via email:

  • Send an email to admin@skillgap.co.
  • Subject line: Account Deletion Request.
  • Please send this request from the email address associated with your Skillgap account so we can verify your identity.

What Data is Deleted?

When you delete your account, Skillgap will permanently remove or anonymize the following information:

  • Profile Information: Your name, username, Skillgap tag, bio, and profile/cover photos.
  • Social Connections: Links to your Twitter, TikTok, Instagram, and other social media accounts.
  • Game History: Records of your past contests, wins, and losses will be anonymized.
  • Contact Information: Your email address and phone number will be scrubbed from our active marketing and user databases.

Data Retention Policy

To comply with legal, financial, and regulatory requirements (especially regarding real-money contests), certain data may be retained for a specific period:

  • Financial Records: Transaction history and withdrawal records are kept for 7 years to comply with financial auditing and anti-money laundering (AML) laws.
  • Dispute Records: If you were involved in an active dispute, those records are retained until the dispute is fully resolved and for a period of up to 3 years thereafter for legal protection.
  • Security Logs: Basic server logs may be kept for a short period to prevent fraud and ensure platform security.

Note: Retained data is stored securely and is only accessed when required by law or for critical platform security. It is never used for marketing or tracking.
